Henri Verhoef (1990, Harderwijk) is an Amsterdam based photographer whose work evolves around identity and more specifically, the way we alter and conform our personae to constructed ideas about what we should or should not be. Trying to show the way we look at identity might not be as set in stone as we think, he creates an alternative for people’s existing image - looking for what we could be rather than the way we present ourselves. Both his portraiture and fashion work is characterized by it’s theatrical, ominous atmosphere and artificial gloss, always searching for balance between blunt- and stillness.
