Henri Verhoef (1990, NL) is a visual artist working at the intersection of identity, representation, and constructed reality.
He uses AI, photography and digital manipulation to create layered, stylized portraits that question what is seen and what is believed. His work plays with familiarity and estrangement: accessible in form, subversive in meaning. It often centers on queer embodiment, masculinity, and the performativity of normativity. Control is key: in lighting, composition, and post-production, Verhoef shapes an artificial clarity that reflects his search for order in a chaotic world.
He lives and works between Amsterdam and the Greek island Kythira.
